Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- CCU - Coronary Care (3 years of experience)
- CCU - Coronary Care experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
Clinical Focus
- Care for ventilated patients for early mobility
- Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment and interpret electronic displays, including:
- intracranial pressures
- central venous pressures
- cardiac rhythms from cardiac monitors
- respirators
- ventilators
- oxygen pumps
Responsibilities
- Complete initial patient assessments and develop plans of care
- Implement and modify nursing care plans and interventions
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation
- Communicate with patients and families using hourly rounding, bedside report, and whiteboards
- Collaborate with the care team
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatment
- Support patient and staff safety
- Provide constructive feedback and pursue professional development
