Description
MedSurg/Tele Float Pool RN
Location
- Bridgeport, West Virginia
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: 7a–7p and 7p–7a
- Days
- Every other weekend, Saturday/Sunday
- Holiday rotation with permanent staff
Unit / Float Scope
- MedSurg/Tele Float Pool
- Most frequent float units: 6N (36 beds) and 7N (29 beds)
- Other possible float units: 4N (36 beds), 5S (36 beds), 6S (36 beds), and Critical Care (20 beds)
Required Qualifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- Must pass a cardiac rhythm exam
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
Preferred / Helpful Experience
- Basic telemetry patients within scope of practice
Clinical Details
- Common patient types include CHF, cardiac cath, CP, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, ortho, and oncology
- RN will not have to titrate drips
- CPAP and BiPap are managed by RT
- Most units have monitor techs
- CNAs are used on all units
Orientation
- 1–2 shifts with a preceptor
