Overview

• Location: Federal Way, Washington
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days, 12 hours per day
• Hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

• Current state licensure
• AHA BLS
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• 2+ years related work experience
• Able to read strips

Unit Details

• 28 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5
• Common patient types include general medical patients with sepsis, COPD, bowel obstructions, and CHF
• RN titration of insulin and heparin drips is required
• No tele monitor techs on the unit
• CNA support is available at a ratio of 1 CNA to 10-14 patients
• RT equipment includes CPAP and established BiPAPs only

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• First to float within Region I if needed
• May float to St. Anne Hospital in Burien, WA and Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA
• When floated within Region I outside the primary facility, an additional $20/hour applies
• Unit-specific orientation is provided
• Professional-colored scrubs are allowed
