RRT
Role Summary
Travel RRT position in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The role floats between Lake Charles and St Patrick facility and works nights.
Schedule
- Nights: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Every other weekend and holidays
- No call
- Full time, 36 hours per week
Floating
- Floats between Lake Charles and St Patrick facility
- Shift at St. Patrick facility: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
- Shift at Lake Charles facility: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Louisiana
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- 1 year of Registered Respiratory Therapist experience
- Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience working with Adult patients
- Adult ICU experience
Preferred Experience
- 1–3 years of experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Emergency response for Code Blue and Code White
- Airway management, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
- Aerosolized drug delivery
- Ventilator management
- Oral hygiene
- Airway retaining device placement and maintenance
- Airway support device management, including BiPAP and CPAP
- Oxygen delivery and therapeutic monitoring
- Chest film analysis
- Blood gas collection and analysis
- EKG analysis
- Documentation
- Cleaning and stocking equipment and supplies
- CAP and JC survey participation
- May function as Shift Leader or Team Leader
- Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management and monitoring, INO and HeO2, Pulmonary Function Testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 evaluation, polysomnography, and transport duties

- Nurse/patient ratio: 5:1 (5 vents to one therapist)
- Dress code: Gray scrubs
