Med Surg Tele RN

Overview

• Travel RN role in Med/Surg Tele
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• Weekly orientation on Mondays
• Candidates must live 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered travel

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• IV insertion skills
• Experience with NG tubes
• Experience with PICC lines
• Experience with central line care
• Catheter care
• Post-op surgical care for general surgery patients
• Post-op surgical care for total knee replacement
• Post-op surgical care for hip replacement
• Post-op surgical care for hernia repair
• Post-op surgical care for colectomy

Required Skills / Experience

• IVs
• NGs
• PICC and Central Line Care
• Catheter Care
• Post-op surgical care for general surgery patients
• Post-op surgical care for total knee and hip replacement, hernia repair, and colectomy patients

Float Scope

• May float to step down care for med/surg if needed

Preferred

• Foleys
• IV insertion
• Tele
• Tube feeding
• Stroke
• Post-op care

Unit Details

• Med/Surg unit
• 36 beds
• Patient ratio: 5:1 and 6:1
• Day shift has many admissions and discharges
• Patient population ranges from age 18 to geriatric
