RN PACU

Overview

• Travel RN role in Preop/PACU
• 2 openings
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Shift: 8:30A-9P on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
• Weekend coverage is required at least once, possibly twice, during the 13-week assignment
• Call requirement: 11p-7am every other week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• Experience working with Pediatric patients
• Experience working with Adult patients
• Experience working with Geriatric patients
• Ventilator care and management
• Arterial line care
• Foley catheter management
• Chest tube care
• Ability to handle ICU level patients for recovery and hold beds
• Preoperative experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Able to handle ICU level patients for recovery and hold beds

Unit / Department

• Dept 704 Preop/PACU
• 1st Floor
• Float scope: Preop/PACU

Clinical Setting

• 300-bed acute care facility
• Patient ratios are usually 2:1, except for peds or ICU level of care
• Equipment includes ventilator care, glucose monitoring, bladder scanner, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, and wound vacs

Case Mix / Service Lines

• General
• Robotics
• Bariatrics
• Ortho
• Podiatry
• ENT
• Urology
• Vascular, limited to thoracic and vascular cases; no open heart or cath lab
• Neuro
• GYN
• ENDO
• Pulmonology
• No c-sections or suction D&C cases

Additional Notes

• Orientation is weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater away to be considered travel
• All travelers must have required certifications prior to start
• Meditech Magic is used as the EHR
