Overview

• ICU RN needed for a 13-week assignment in Sheridan, Wyoming.
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week.
• No call.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wyoming.
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience).
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, ENPC.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Med Surg experience.

Unit Details

• Intensive Care Unit with 11 beds.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3 to 1:2.

Floating

• May float to med/surg for patient assignment.
• May float to ER to task.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect professional nursing care in the ICU.
• May work in other units as oriented/assigned.
• Monitors patient condition and responds to changes quickly and accurately.
• Communicates with physicians about changes in condition, diagnostic studies, and symptoms.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia treatment based on ACLS protocol.
• Provides basic airway management and CPR support.
• Cares for patients with compromised nutritional/metabolic status and extensive fluid and electrolyte management needs.
• Assesses and cares for patients in the immediate post-anesthesia period.
• Functions independently using critical thinking in critical situations until physician arrival.
• Assists with orientation of new ICU employees.
• Maintains department competencies.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures.

Equipment

• Phillips monitors.
• Stryker beds.
