Required Qualifications

RN license
BLS certification
Must be able to care for a wide variety of patients
Willingness to teach (precept) and learn
Driver’s license required at submittal
Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity

Preferred

Charge nurse / house supervisor experience is preferred

Schedule

12-hour day shifts
Self-scheduling
Every other weekend
Holidays required
No call or standby

Unit Details

Patient ratios: 1:5-6
Nurse aide ratios: 1:10-14
Common patient types: Cardiology, Surgical Oncology, Urology, complex general Med Surg patients
Telemetry on the unit
Centralized monitoring techs
RNs read basic strips
Common titratable / set-rate drips: IVF
RT equipment: nasal cannula, <6L if acute, trach collar
Floating: per skill level
Scrub color: Navy Blue
Orientation: 1-2 days, 12-hour days

Other Requirements / Notes

Pass/fail exam during orientation; open-book skills exam with a required 90% passing score
Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
