RN II - MedSurg/Tele 4th Floor

Location

Prescott, Arizona

Assignment Details

13-week contract
Nights, 12-hour shifts
36 hours per week
Unit: Telemetry- WC-Surgical/Neuro 4th Floor
48 beds total across two units (4A and 4B)
Ratio: 1:5

Required Qualifications

BLS
ACLS
Ability to read basic tele strips
Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients
Experience with CVA and TIA
RNs are required to interpret strips and sign at least once per shift

Preferred Qualifications

Cerner experience

Unit Details

Common patient types include COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetics, telemetry, TIA, CVA, and general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical patients
Tele is monitored remotely
Tele techs are on the 3rd floor
Monitor techs read and post strips
Diltiazem is used at a set rate
Charge nurse/house supervisor is present, and the charge does not take a patient assignment
Nurse aides are on the unit at a ratio of 1:10-15
Respiratory equipment includes Bipap, Cpap, high flow, and some breathing treatments

Scheduling and Logistics

Schedules are made 4 weeks at a time
Self-scheduling is used, but final schedules are balanced by the manager
Weekend requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
Holiday requirement includes Christmas, New Year’s, and Thanksgiving coverage
No call or standby requirement
May float to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
Navy blue scrubs required
1 shift of unit orientation
