Registered Nurse (ER)

Location: Davis, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours: 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week

Schedule

• Shifts: Evening (3x12 hours, 13:00 to 01:00) or Night (3x12 hours, 19:00 to 07:00)
• Schedule is variable and may include 1p-1a, 4p-4a, and/or 7p-7a shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid California RN license
• Emergency Department (ED) experience of 2 years, including experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Other Listed Certifications (verify by position)

• Critical Care RN (CCRN)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), valid for 4 years
• Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP), AHA/AAP only, Instructor or Advanced Provider course
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), typically for L&D
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (marijuana/cannabinoids excluded for new screens in California)
• TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
• Negative TB test (QuantiFERON or T-SPOT within 90 days of start, or two PPDs) renewed annually, or negative chest x-ray within 1 year if positive responder
• Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity via titer or vaccination series; religious or medical exemptions may be considered
• Tdap within 10 years
• Current seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination (flu season 11/1 to 4/30)
• In-person color vision exam if applicable
• Respiratory safety clearance (annual) with fit test for an approved N95 mask

Background and Screening

• 7-year background check, completed within 6 months of start
• Sex offender, OFAC, HHS/OIG, EPLS/SAM, and FACIS III screenings
• Education verification of highest level achieved
• Employment application listing 7 years of work history with no gaps
• Work history verification for up to 7 years; gaps over 30 days must be explained
• Two professional references (acute care)
• Primary source license verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
• Documents to review and sign before start, including the job description, standards of business conduct, and code of conduct

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
