Description
Float Pool RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Float
Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: 3x12 hours (7p-7a), 36 hours per week, weekend and holiday rotation
Role Overview
- Float Pool RN who floats between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and PCU.
- Candidates must be comfortable moving across these units and caring for patients of varying acuity.
- Responsibilities include hourly patient rounding, bedside shift report, prioritizing care as patient needs change, and ongoing communication with physicians and other departments.
- Physical demands: frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling over 35 lbs, frequent walking, repetitive motion and bending, and color discrimination for clinical cues.
- Exposure: regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and airborne infectious diseases.
Required Qualifications
- Valid, active Kentucky RN license.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. Additional experience cannot be substituted for the degree.
- BLS (American Heart Association), within 90 days of hire.
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience of at least 1 year, with PCU experience within the last year.
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience.
- Telemetry experience.
- Experience with wound care.
