Med Surg/Tele RN - Nights

Location: Middletown, Connecticut Contract Length: 13 weeks (willing to consider 13-26 weeks) Start Date: 3/17 (ASAP)

Schedule

• Shift: Nights, 3x12s, 7p-7:30a
• Hours: 36 hours per week; overtime after 48 hours
• Weekends: Every other weekend (EOW) is a must. The unit cannot take a traveler who cannot work Sundays, and the traveler must work the whole weekend.
• Holidays: Every other holiday
• Orientation: Floor-specific orientation, 2 shifts

Required Qualifications

• Connecticut RN license
• BLS required (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• 2 years of experience
• Prior travel experience required

Submission Requirements

• Must be able to work 48 hours per week
• Must be able to start on the listed orientation dates
• Must have an accurate, detailed, and up-to-date profile
• Cannot work another job while applying for this assignment
• No RTO within the first two weeks of the start date; minimal RTO overall
• Must hold all required certifications
• Does not take first-time travelers
• Not open to local travelers (within 50 miles)
• Cannot offer blocked schedules

Unit Details

• Unit: Medical North 4 (26 beds)
• Patient Population: General medical
• Ratios: Days 1:3-4; Nights 1:7-8
• Charge Nurse: Yes, shared with North 6
• Nurse Aides: Yes, 1:8
• Telemetry: No (Tele: No)
• Ventilators: CPAP at HS only
• Hospitalist: 24/7 in house
• Pharmacy: 24/7
• Respiratory Therapy: 24/7; nurses perform all respiratory treatments
• IV Team: 7am-8:30pm; must try first. Nurse Resource available 24/7 for IV help from 7pm-7am.
• Scrub Color: Caribbean blue. Black or white shirts may be worn under the uniform, but the top layer must be the uniform color. Pants may be black or Caribbean blue.
