RN - ED

Location: Lafayette, Colorado Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Variable 12-hour shifts (12 hours per day, 36 hours per week) Schedule: Variable mid-shift flex; rotating weekends

Role Overview

• Performs independent and delegated nursing functions under accepted practice standards set by the state Board of Nursing.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care, including ongoing health data collection and assessment.
• Provides health teaching, health counseling, and therapy and treatment, directly or through delegation, supervision, or teaching of others.
• Executes delegated medical functions, refers patients for further evaluation or treatment, and reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
• Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines and performs other duties as assigned.
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications, based on business need.
• May be required to be placed on call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
• Valid Registered Nurse license in Colorado (RN License, CO Single State or Compact License)
• 1+ years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • TNCC
  • NIHSS
  • ACLS, NRP, and PALS as appropriate for unit or service

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• ENPC certification
• Certification as appropriate for unit or service
