Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

• Location: Tracy, California
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours (7:00 to 19:00)
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid California RN license
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Labor and Delivery experience (2 years)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP), provider level. Must be an Instructor or Advanced Provider course (AHA/AAP only).
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), AWHONN certification valid 2 years
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing

• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), AWHONN certification valid 2 years. Typically required for L&D; intermediate or advanced level may be required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Critical Care RN (CCRN)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), valid 4 years
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB). Can be completed onsite during orientation week.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)

Pre-Start Requirements

• 7-year background check, sex offender search, and federal and state exclusion list checks
• Education verification of highest level achieved (not required for high school)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• TB screening questionnaire annually, plus a negative TB test within 90 days of start (or a chest x-ray for those with positive responses)
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity (titer or vaccination records)
• Tdap within the past 10 years
• Hepatitis B vaccine series or signed declination
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start. New screens exclude marijuana.
• Annual flu vaccination documentation during flu season (November 1 to April 30). Workers without valid proof must wear a mask in patient care areas.
• N95 fit test, renewed annually
• In-person color blind exam
• Annual respiratory safety clearance
• Competency exams and a unit-specific skills checklist
