Schedule: 3x12s | Rotating Days/Evenings/Nights
Shift Coverage: Weekends, Holidays, On-Call, Callback, Charge per Unit Needs
Contract Length: 17 Weeks | 36 Hours/Week

Position Overview:
HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for a travel assignment in a high-acuity inpatient behavioral health unit in Rochester, NY. This position is ideal for RNs with a strong psychiatric nursing background, crisis intervention experience, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team providing care for individuals with acute mental health conditions in a safe, secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient intake assessments, including interviews with patients and families

• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health professionals on treatment planning

• Administer and monitor effects of psychotropic medications

• Assist patients in understanding emotional disturbances and treatment goals

• Maintain a safe environment and intervene in crisis situations as needed

• Monitor and document vital signs, pain levels, medication reactions, and behavioral changes

• Complete electronic documentation and follow physician orders

• Provide respectful, high-quality service to patients and their families

• Perform light administrative tasks such as answering phones and updating charts

Required Qualifications:

• Active NYS RN License (must be in hand before start)

• Minimum 2 years of recent psychiatric nursing experience

• CPI Certification (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – Required

• BLS Certification – American Heart Association ONLY

• Experience with inpatient psych and behavioral health interventions required

• Strong therapeutic communication and de-escalation skills
