Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Kirksville, MO
Start Date: 9/22
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days | 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Requirements:
-
Minimum 2+ years L&D, Nursery, or OB experience required
-
BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring completion required
-
May float to other hospital units as needed (ED, Med-Surg, CCU, Lab, OP Surgery)
-
Spanish and/or French language skills preferred
Monthly Department Volume: Approximately 40 deliveries
Scope of Role:
Provides comprehensive care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal patients. Responsibilities include:

Basic nursing care and specialized OB/L&D documentation
-
Fetal monitoring, OB triage, labor management, and emergency OB/transfer care
-
Cesarean recovery, postpartum care, neonatal resuscitation, routine and special care nursery, and breastfeeding support

Emergent care including postpartum hemorrhage, severe maternal hypertension, prolapsed cord, and shoulder dystocia

Antepartum skills: multiple gestations, diabetes, fetal demise, external version assistance, magnesium sulfate administration, and triage of scheduled/unscheduled patients

Intrapartum skills: vaginal exams, oxytocin administration, promotion of vaginal delivery through psychoprophylaxis and positioning, circulating vaginal delivery, TOLAC care, blood administration, cesarean recovery

Neonatal skills: IV therapy, CPAP management, circumcision assistance, breastfeeding support
