Pathology Assistant

Travel Pathologist Assistant – Danbury, CT
Duration: 13 weeks 
Shift: Days, 7.5 hours 
Shift Times: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday – Friday) 
On Call: No

Role Overview: 
Assist pathologists with specimen processing, gross description, and preparation of tissue for analysis. Perform special procedures, obtain biological specimens, and document findings through photography.

Responsibilities:

<ul>
	<li>
	Ensure appropriate specimen accessioning and obtain clinical history
	
	</li><li>
	Assist with gross description, dissect surgical specimens, and prepare tissue for processing
	
	</li><li>
	Assist pathologists in frozen section preparation and procurement of FNA specimens
	
	</li><li>
	Obtain biological specimens for analysis and perform special procedures
	
	</li><li>
	Photograph pertinent gross specimens and microscopic slides
	
</li></ul>

Required:

<ul>
	<li>
	Postgraduate training from an NAACLS-approved program or equivalent
	
	</li><li>
	2+ years of Pathologist Assistant experience
	
</li></ul>
