Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

Qualifications

  • AAS or AMA certified program completion
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license with 3-5 years of related experience
  • New York State (NYS) license
  • Must pass pre-employment health clearance

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver radiation therapy to patients as prescribed, following National Cancer Institute regulations
  • Operate and maintain high-voltage, state-of-the-art radiation therapy equipment (e.g., Co-60, Linear Accelerator, Simulator)
  • Coordinate patient appointments and interpret physician prescriptions for radiation delivery
  • Take radiographic films to confirm treatment volume
  • Perform pretreatment duties including tumor localization, contouring, and collecting physical factors for treatment planning
  • Take patient photographs for portal verification
  • Ensure patient safety by recognizing radiation reactions and providing proper care and instructions
  • Comply with departmental and regulatory policies and procedures
  • Record and maintain treatment records and port films
  • Participate in departmental in-service and educational programs
  • Coordinate departmental and inpatient activities to ensure proper patient care
