Location: Syracuse, NY
Start Date: 12/5
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour Days/Evenings (rotating within the same pay period)
Schedule: 8 ten-hour shifts every two weeks; weekend rotation required

Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Pediatric Critical Care RN for a travel assignment in the Pediatric PACU at a major downtown Syracuse hospital. The RN will provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care to pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia, requiring strong clinical skills and sound judgment in a critical care setting.

Unit Details:

• Pediatric PACU – pre- and post-anesthesia care for children

• High-acuity environment in a Level I Trauma facility

• Collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment

Duties Include:

• Delivering pre- and post-anesthesia nursing care for pediatric patients

• Performing thorough nursing assessments and interventions with minimal supervision

• Monitoring vital signs, airway management, pain control, and patient recovery

• Communicating effectively with physicians, anesthesia providers, and families

Requirements:

• License: Active NY State RN license

• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and PALS strongly preferred

• Experience:

  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent experience (within past 2 years) in a comparable acute care or trauma center

  • Pediatric critical care experience required

  • PACU experience preferred

• Charting: Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
