Radiation Therapist - Albany, New York (Travel Position)

Job Overview

• Administer ionizing radiation and radioactive substances to patients under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist.
• Follow New York State Department of Health Code part 16 guidelines.
• Operate high voltage machinery safely and accurately.
• Communicate promptly about any equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain professional conduct focused on patient welfare.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Radiation Therapist in New York State (can obtain during onboarding).
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
• Completion of a Radiation Therapy Technology program from an AMA-approved school.
• Must meet registry requirements by ARRT.
• Adherence to NYSDOH, ARRT, and ACRO radiation safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiation therapy as prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
• Accurately enter and maintain patient treatment parameters in the electronic medical record.
• Interpret computerized treatment plans accurately.
• Observe patients daily for reactions and report adverse reactions immediately.
• Facilitate complex problem solving related to technical issues.
• Maintain professional conduct essential to patient well-being.
