Travel Radiation Oncology Therapist
Location: New York (NY license required)
Start Date: 12/29
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Experience: Minimum 2 years required

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed Radiation Therapist in New York (may obtain during onboarding)

• ARRT certification required

• Completion of an AMA-approved Radiation Therapy Technology program meeting ARRT registry requirements

Role Overview

The Radiation Oncology Therapist administers ionizing radiation and radioactive substances to patients under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist in accordance with New York State Department of Health Code Part 16. The therapist must safely operate high-voltage machinery, promptly report equipment malfunctions, and consistently ensure patient safety and comfort. Professionalism, precision, and adherence to radiation safety protocols are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist and in alignment with established standards

• Accurately input and maintain patient treatment parameters in the electronic medical record

• Interpret computerized treatment plans correctly

• Monitor patients daily for treatment reactions and promptly report concerns to the Radiation Oncology Nurse or Oncologist

• Assist with complex problem-solving related to technical or equipment issues

• Maintain professional conduct and support the well-being of radiation oncology patients

• Follow all radiation safety regulations from NYSDOH, ARRT, and ACRO
