Travel Sterile Processing Technician – Bethpage, NY

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

• Start Date: 1/12/26

• Shift: Nights

• Shift Time: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts

• On Call: None

• Weekends: Every other weekend required

Facility Overview:
Large, busy, state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center providing sterile processing services for 9 facilities, including tertiary hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The facility also provides emergency services for the surrounding area.

Required Qualifications:

• Sterile Processing Certification (CRCST or CSPD) – must not expire during assignment

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 1.5+ years experience accepted with tertiary experience

• 2+ years experience required if no tertiary experience

• Ability to rotate through all areas, including decontamination

• Ability to stand for long periods of time

• Ability to lift and/or carry 25 pounds

• Manual dexterity with ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods

• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) and follow oral and/or written instructions

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of sterile processing experience

Equipment and Systems:

• STERIS washers

• Autoclaves

• IT System: SynergyTrak

Key Responsibilities:

• Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies per specifications, manufacturer instructions, and department protocols

• Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and related equipment

• Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts

• Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from surgical and clinical areas for decontamination

• Inspect instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality

• Identify malfunctioning items, document findings, and notify supervisor or biomedical engineering as needed

• Assist with ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory

• Perform duties required to maintain a contaminant-free work environment
