Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Care Manager – Days
Location: Vicksburg, MS
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Day shift, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (rotating weekend shifts)
Position Summary:
The Travel RN – Care Manager will function as an acute hospital case manager, providing expert discharge planning and utilization review services. This role requires an experienced professional who can operate independently and effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment from day two. Candidates must have recent, hands-on experience in both discharge planning and utilization review within an acute care hospital setting.
Qualifications:

Current RN license
-
Minimum 3+ years of acute hospital case management experience (travel experience preferred)

Recent experience required in both discharge planning and utilization review (UR)

BLS certification required
-
Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility

Experience must be in acute hospital case management only

Not a charge nurse
-
Not a staff nurse
-
Not outpatient, home health, or hospice case manager

Required Knowledge & Skills:
-
Discharge planning for all levels of care, including:
-
Home Health
-
Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
-
Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC)
-
Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF)

Perform utilization review using MCG criteria for medical necessity

Knowledge of Conditions of Participation (CoPs), including:
-
Patient choice letters
-
Important Message from Medicare (IMM) delivery and documentation

Ability to work independently and “hit the ground running” as an acute hospital case manager
