Job Opportunity: Pharmacist (Travel)

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Facility Type: Inpatient Acute Hospital (44 Beds + Emergency Department)

Job Description

  • Responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages and hospital areas.
  • Practice in compliance with state/federal laws, DEA regulations, TJC standards, and hospital policies.
  • Collaborate with physicians on drug selection and dosing.
  • Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians regarding medications.
  • Participate in medication safety initiatives.
  • Manage patient profiles and report adverse drug reactions.
  • Prepare IV admixtures and nutritional supplements.
  • Maintain narcotic accountability.

Requirements

  • License: Arizona Pharmacist License required.
  • Certifications: ACLS and BLS required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pharmacist in an inpatient acute hospital setting.
    • Board certification and/or accredited pharmacy residency preferred but not required.
  • Schedule: 7 nights on / 7 nights off, 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
  • No on-call duties.
  • EMR system used: Cerner.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks.

Additional Information

  • Holidays: Pharmacy remains open on recognized holidays.
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required.
