Travel Surgical Technologist (Operating Room – Adult)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: February 20, 2026
Shift: Days and Evenings (with varied start times)
Schedule: Primarily 5 x 8-hour shifts, with some 12-hour shifts mixed in

Position Overview

HumanEdge Health is seeking experienced Travel Surgical Technologists for the Adult Operating Room at a high-acuity, Level 1 trauma and teaching hospital. This role is ideal for seasoned OR techs comfortable scrubbing a wide variety of complex adult cases.

Shift Details

Shifts will include a mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, which may include:

• 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

• 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

• 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

• 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

• 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM

• Trauma

• Orthopedics

• General Surgery

• ENT

• Vascular

• Gynecology

• Bariatric

• GU

• Neurosurgery

Responsibilities

• Scrub for adult surgical procedures in a fast-paced OR environment

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure case readiness

• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to OR protocols

• Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures

• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia, and OR staff

• Support trauma and emergent cases as required

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required

• Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience (within the last 4 years)

  • Experience must be in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center or equivalent teaching hospital

• Scrub experience required

• Broad experience across general and specialty surgery

• First Assist not permitted in New York State

• First-time travelers considered only if experienced in hospitals of similar size and acuity

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
