Travel Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) – PM Shift
Manchester, CT | 12 Weeks | Start ASAP | No On-Call
HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for an 12-week travel assignment in Manchester, CT. This role supports evening operations with rotating weekend coverage in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Shift: PM / 2nd Shift – 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

Schedule: 5x8s (40 hours/week)

Weekend Rotation: Saturday & Sunday 10:00 AM–6:30 PM (rotating)

Position Summary
-
Decontaminate, assemble, process, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment

Disinfect and restock emergency carts, isolation carts, and patient care equipment
-
Ensure compliance with infection control, JCAHO, OSHA, and AAMI standards

Accurately inspect, assemble, and package instrumentation for sterilization
-
Maintain instrument tracking systems and prepare case carts
-
Communicate effectively with OR, Biomed, vendors, and leadership
-
Support staff education and assist with training when needed

Troubleshoot department equipment and maintain workflow efficiency
Requirements
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
Current Sterile Processing Certification (CRCST or CBSPD required)

Ability to maintain required CEUs for certification

Strong knowledge of sterile processing principles and infection control
-
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Basic computer skills preferred

Must read, write, and speak English fluently
