Job Description

The Medical Imaging Technologist performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients under the direction of the Medical Director, Section Head, manager, and Radiologist. The role involves creating diagnostic images using specific modalities and ensuring a safe, positive patient experience. The technologist enforces radiation safety measures in compliance with New York State Department of Health regulations. The position supports ongoing teaching and learning as imaging technology evolves.

Schedule

• Tuesday to Friday, 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• No on-call obligations

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Applied Science Degree in a relevant field
• Diploma in X-Ray or Vocational School Diploma
• Graduate of an approved professional academic imaging program
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Registered upon hire
• New York State registration or limited permit to practice in New York upon hire
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification upon hire
• Strong OR and C-Arm experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist or in the specialty

• Must practice in compliance with hospital, state, and accrediting agency standards
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide patient care appropriate to patient age and special characteristics
