Travel Surgical Technologist (CST) – Cardiovascular OR
Location: Hartford, CT
Assignment Length: 12 Weeks
Start Date: 02/23/2026
Shift: Days with rotation to evenings as needed
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
On Call: Yes
Facility Overview:
Level I Trauma Center with high-volume, high-acuity surgical services
Position Overview:
The Surgical Technologist supports the Cardiovascular Operating Room in a Level I Trauma hospital, assisting with complex and high-acuity surgical cases. This role requires strong experience across cardiovascular and thoracic specialties and flexibility for rotating shifts and call coverage.
Shift & Call Details:

Primary shift: Days
-
Rotation to evenings as needed for case coverage

Rotating overnight call required
-
Every other weekend / every other holiday (shift and/or call commitment)
Clinical Experience Required:
-
Cardiovascular surgery
-
Pulmonary and thoracic procedures
-
Transplant experience preferred
Qualifications:
-
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA – required
-
Minimum of 2 years of recent CST experience preferred
-
Level I Trauma or high-acuity OR experience strongly preferred
-
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Responsibilities:

Scrub and assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures

Maintain sterile technique and ensure surgical field readiness

Anticipate surgeon needs and support complex cases

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR nursing staff
-
Adhere to infection control and patient safety standards
