Travel Registered Nurse – CVICU / CCU
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 03/02/2026
Shift: Nights
Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Unit Overview:

Critical Care Unit with float coverage to Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
-
High-acuity cardiac patient population including medical and surgical cases
Position Overview:
The CVICU RN provides expert nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients, including those with pulmonary artery (PA) lines, transvenous pacing, and mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices such as IABP or Impella. This role requires strong CCU/critical care experience and the ability to float between CCU and CVICU units.
Responsibilities:

Manage complex cardiac patients in CCU and CVICU

Care for patients with PA lines, transvenous pacing, and mechanical circulatory support devices

Monitor and respond to high-acuity cardiac and post-surgical patients

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records

Participate in unit-based safety and quality initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission

Must have Critical Care Unit (CCU) experience

Strong cardiac nursing experience (surgical or medical) required

Expertise with PA lines and transvenous pacing

Experience with mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella) preferred

CPR – AHA Certification required
-
ACLS – AHA Certification required
