Travel Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Burlington, MA
Assignment Length: 8 Weeks
Start Date: 03/09/2026
Shift: Nights
Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Fri–Sun for night shifts)
Weekly Start Dates: Mondays
Unit Overview:

Level 1 Trauma Center
-
Progressive Care Unit (Step-Down) with patient ratios 1:3–1:5
-
High-acuity patient population requiring pressor titration and advanced monitoring
-
Floating to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units in 4-hour blocks as needed
Position Overview:
The PCU RN provides advanced nursing care for intermediate and high-acuity patients in a progressive care/step-down setting. This role requires experience titrating pressors and strong critical care skills. Epic EMR experience is required. First-day pass/fail testing will be administered; Relias practice tests are available.
Responsibilities:

Monitor, assess, and manage progressive care patients, including titration of pressors per protocol

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care

Float to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units as needed

Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR

Participate in ongoing professional development and complete required testing

Provide high-quality care in a Level 1 Trauma environment

Adhere to hospital safety and clinical guidelines
Qualifications:

Active RN license required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Experience in progressive care or step-down units
-
Pressor titration experience required
-
BLS – AHA required
-
ACLS – AHA preferred
-
NIHSS preferred
-
Level 1 Trauma experience preferred; required for first-time travelers
