Job Description

• Must have Epic experience (required)
• Nurses care for medically delicate and surgically complex patients including:

  • Respiratory failure
  • Sepsis
  • Closed head injuries
  • Multi-system organ dysfunction
  • Endocrine disorders
  • Complex traumas
  • Surgical complications
• Competency in care of medical and surgical populations required
• Required certifications and skills:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • Advanced hemodynamics including pressor usage per titration protocols
  • Management of antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics
  • Experience with arterial line (a line), central venous pressure (CVP), external ventricular drain (EVD), orthopedic traction
  • Infection prevention protocols
  • Use of HFNC (High Flow Nasal Cannula), BiPAP/CPAP, and oxypendent devices
• Average patient load: 3 high acuity patients
• Nurses with large scale adult PCU and community hospital ICU experience tend to perform well
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Competency test required within 24 hours of submission
