Shift: Days – 8 Hour Shifts, Monday–Friday with Rotating Weekend (1 weekend every 5 weeks)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for a 13-week travel assignment at an inpatient substance abuse treatment facility in Bayard, Iowa.

Position Overview:
The Counselor provides treatment and recovery support services to adult patients (18+) experiencing substance use and behavioral health disorders. This role focuses on individualized counseling, behavior modification, relapse prevention, and family support services within a structured inpatient environment.

What You Will Do:

• Provide individual and group counseling for patients recovering from substance use disorders

• Assist patients in modifying maladaptive behaviors and developing coping strategies

• Facilitate family counseling and education as appropriate

• Conduct clinical assessments and participate in treatment planning

• Perform CIWA/COWS assessments and monitor withdrawal symptoms

• Conduct UAs as required

• Maintain firm, empathic boundaries within a structured therapeutic setting

• Complete documentation in HCS electronic health record

Facility Details:

• 50-bed inpatient substance abuse treatment facility (20 female / 30 male)

• Adult population (18+)

• Voluntary admissions only; no restraints

• EMR: HCS

• Nurse/Patient Ratio (Nights):

  • 1 Nurse

  • 7p–11p: 2–3 Behavioral Health Aides (Techs)

  • 11p–7a: 1 Behavioral Health Aide

• Administrator and Physician on call at all times

• No on-site security

• Visiting hours: Sundays 1:00pm–4:00pm

Qualifications:

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required

• 2+ years professional experience working in a recovery setting

• Must be able to perform CIWA/COWS assessments and UAs

• Must maintain strong clinical boundaries

• Valid CADC, ICADC, or ability to obtain within 6 months required

• Open to out-of-state licensure as long as eligible to practice in Iowa

• Acceptable disciplines include: LMSW, LICSW, LCMHC, LMFT, MLADC, LADC, LPC
