Registered Nurse (RN)

Labor and Delivery

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor &amp; Delivery (L&amp;D) 
Location: White Plains, NY 
Start Date: 03/02/2026 
Duration: 13 weeks 
Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts 
Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 per week

Position Overview: 
Seeking an experienced Labor &amp; Delivery RN for a fast-paced acute care setting. This unit manages high-risk obstetrics, C-sections, and triage. Travelers must be confident working independently and comfortable with a high-acuity L&amp;D environment.

Unit Details:

<ul>
	<li>
	Beds: 14 total

	<ul>
		<li>
		5 triage/inpatient beds
		
		</li><li>
		6 labor beds
		
		</li><li>
		2 OR beds
		
	</li></ul>
	
	</li><li>
	Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
	
	</li><li>
	OR cases: Nurses expected to scrub for C-sections
	
	</li><li>
	Floating: Tasking in OB or Nursery (no patient assignments when floating)
	
	</li><li>
	No holiday requirements for travelers
	
</li></ul>

Schedule Requirements:

<ul>
	<li>
	Every 3rd weekend (3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period)
	
</li></ul>

Requirements:

<ul>
	<li>
	Minimum 2 years of recent L&amp;D experience
	
	</li><li>
	BSN required
	
	</li><li>
	Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP, RN-C
	
	</li><li>
	High-risk OB experience required
	
	</li><li>
	Strong labor assessment skills
	
	</li><li>
	Must perform cervical exams and full patient assessments
	
	</li><li>
	Cannot place IUPC
	
</li></ul>

Preferred:

<ul>
	<li>
	NCC RNC-OB (Preferred but not required)
	
	</li><li>
	Epic experience
	
</li></ul>

Technology/Systems:

<ul>
	<li>
	EMR: Meditech and GE
	
	</li><li>
	Must document across two systems
	
</li></ul>

Additional Notes:

	<li>
	Charge nurses typically do not take patients
	
	</li><li>
	Highly customer service focused unit
	
	</li><li>
	Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment

	No IV team; full patient care responsibilities

	In-house coverage available 3 nights per week
