Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist

Start Date: 11/24
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans based on patient needs and physician direction.
  • Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
  • Design functional treatment programs to support effective return to community activities.
  • Educate patients, families, students, and coworkers.
  • Perform professional duties related to patient care, therapy service development, and program delivery.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational Code of Conduct, confidentiality, and professional standards.
  • Promote patient and employee safety, focusing on safe patient handling, materials handling, infectious disease control, slip/trip/fall prevention, and a safe work environment.
  • Follow hospital guidelines for personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Possess necessary skills and competencies to perform job functions according to the population served.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive patient evaluations and develop treatment plans with goals aimed at discharge within an established length of stay.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address discharge barriers, including equipment trialing, patient/family training, home exercise programs, and planning for continuing services.
  • Manage caseload flexibly, including coverage and communication of care plans.
  • Conduct individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions efficiently based on patient needs.
  • Complete clear, concise, accurate, and timely medical record documentation, including daily notes, goal writing, quality assessments, letters of medical necessity, discharge documentation, and charge entry.
  • Ensure care is provided under valid physician orders and insurance approvals.
  • Participate in student programs by providing supervision, learning objectives, and evaluations.
  • Develop and pursue individualized professional development plans through continuing education and professional activities.
  • Engage in patient and professional advocacy, including community events and professional organizations.
  • Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain professional licensure and complete state-mandated continuing education.
  • Perform ethically according to professional codes of conduct.
  • Support organizational performance improvement initiatives and provide feedback to maximize outcomes.

Requirements

  • BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • Valid, current State license (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience (required)

Additional Information

  • Two-week cancellation notice required.
