Occupational Therapist Position

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Plan, organize, develop, administer, direct, and supervise Occupational Therapy (OT) treatment.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines.

• Prioritize patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, infectious disease precautions, and workplace hazard awareness.
• Maintain professional appearance, attendance, and punctuality.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s level of functioning based on physician orders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and patient/family goals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment recommendations.
• Complete all required documentation timely and accurately, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge plans.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), OT and COTA students, and assist with new staff orientation.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to provide optimal patient care.
• Maintain flexibility in scheduling and participate in team conferences.
• Demonstrate good safety practices for patients, self, others, and equipment.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and instill confidence in patients, families, and team members.
• Manage time efficiently and prioritize duties.

Requirements

• Valid, current State Occupational Therapy license.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift.
