Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN)

Key Information for Healthcare Recruiters and Workers

Position Overview

  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Contract Length: 52 weeks (1 year)
  • Minimum Experience: At least 2 years of bedside clinical experience required
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification prior to first shift (for CIRH only)
  • Holiday availability required

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and goals related to diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide timely patient information for initial and weekly re-evaluation team conferences.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in medical records.
  • Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs on assigned units.
  • Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.
  • Focus on patient/family education to achieve health goals and quality outcomes.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to care providers, including physicians and charge nurses, to ensure continuity and safety.
  • Seek consultation from senior nursing staff for complex clinical decisions.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel; delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety following hospital and nursing policies.
  • Contribute positively to unit functioning by offering calm leadership and reassurance to staff, patients, and families.
  • Participate in team-building activities to foster a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and clinical training needs.
  • Provide cost-effective care while promoting quality patient outcomes.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation, as requested.
  • Pursue ongoing professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
  • Prioritize activities and manage time and staff effectively to meet patient needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
