Description

Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity

Contract Length: 52 days ≈ 7 weeks


Job Overview

  • Prioritize patient and employee safety by adhering to safety policies and maintaining awareness in areas including:
    • Safe patient handling
    • Materials handling
    • Infectious diseases
    • Slips, trips, and falls prevention
    • Work environment safety

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide timely patient status updates during initial and weekly team conferences.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
  • Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs on assigned units.
  • Use the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating) with a focus on patient/family education.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and safety.
  • Seek guidance from senior nursing staff for complex clinical decisions.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel; delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Contribute positively to unit functioning by offering calm leadership and reassurance.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs.
  • Deliver cost-effective care while promoting quality patient outcomes.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation, as requested.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
  • Prioritize and plan activities for effective use of time and staff.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before first shift.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before first shift (specific to CIRH).
  • Minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience.
  • Availability to work every other week (EOW) including holidays.

  • Work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment focused on patient safety and quality care.
