Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist
Job Description
- Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans based on patient needs and physician direction.
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
- Design functional treatment programs to support effective return to community activities.
- Educate patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.
- Perform professional duties related to patient care, therapy service development, and program delivery.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address barriers to discharge, including equipment trialing, patient/family training, and planning for continuing services.
- Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions efficiently based on patient care needs.
- Complete clear, concise, accurate, and timely medical record documentation, including daily notes, goal writing, quality assessments, letters of medical necessity, discharge documentation, and charge entry.
- Ensure care is provided under valid physician orders and insurance approvals.
- Participate in student programs by providing supervision, learning objectives, and evaluations.
- Develop and pursue individualized professional development plans through continuing education and professional activities.
- Engage in patient and professional advocacy efforts such as health fairs, community events, and professional memberships.
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act, maintain licensure, and complete required continuing education.
- Follow organizational performance improvement initiatives and contribute feedback to maximize outcomes.
- Uphold professional standards, ethical conduct, and organizational core values focused on quality, respect, teamwork, resourcefulness, and safety.
Work Schedule & Contract Length
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
Requirements
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- Valid, current State license required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
Safety & Compliance
- Commitment to patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, materials handling, infection control, and workplace safety.
- Adherence to hospital guidelines on personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Compliance with organizational Code of Conduct and confidentiality policies.
