Description

Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity

Job Overview

  • Maintain delivery of quality nursing care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed.
  • Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees.
  • Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning.
  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to identify teaching needs and goals.
  • Communicate patient status and changes effectively to support continuity of care and patient safety.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation, as requested.
  • Contribute positively to unit functioning and team building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from day of admission.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Monitor supplies and equipment needs; communicate with management for service support.
  • Prioritize activities and manage time and staff effectively to meet patient needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift (for CIRH only).
  • Minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience highly desired.
  • PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience required.
  • Completion of at least one assignment with the current agency required.

  • 13 weeks
