Outpatient Physical Therapist Position
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
- Design functional treatment programs to support effective return to community activities.
- Educate patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.
- Perform professional duties related to patient care, therapy service development, and program delivery.
- Maintain compliance with organizational Code of Conduct, confidentiality, and professional standards.
- Promote patient and employee safety, focusing on safe patient handling, materials handling, infectious diseases, slips/trips/falls, and work environment safety.
- Follow clinic guidelines for personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Possess necessary skills and competencies to perform job functions according to the population served.
Job Specific Duties and Competencies
- Complete comprehensive patient evaluations.
- Use clinical reasoning to develop treatment plans and goals aimed at progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay.
- Document medical records clearly, accurately, and timely, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry.
- Ensure care is provided under valid physician orders and insurance approval as required.
- Participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing evaluations.
- Create and actively pursue individualized professional development plans.
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain professional licensure and complete all state-mandated continuing education.
- Perform ethically according to professional codes of conduct.
- Understand and participate in organizational performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school (Required)
- Minimum 1 year of outpatient clinical experience (Required)
- CPR Certification (Required)
- Active and applicable state license for the work location (Required)
- Previous successful assignment with the agency (Highly desired)
- Previous successful assignment with the organization (Nice to have)
