Job Opportunity: Cardiac OR Surgical Technologist

Job Description

• Work in the Adult Cardiac OR caring for a wide variety of patients including those undergoing CABG, TAVI, and Heart Failure procedures (VADs, ECMO, Artificial Heart, Heart Transplants).
• Use a multidisciplinary approach to care for patients of all ages.
• Provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Assist the surgical team from the scrub position during operations.
• Responsible for proper care and handling of instruments and facilitating room turnover between cases.
• Maintain sterile technique, safe handling of sharps, and perform surgical counts as per hospital policy.
• Handle solutions and pharmacologic agents under the direction of a registered nurse.

Requirements

• Specialty: Cardiac Operating Room
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years recent experience in a cardiac OR (highest required experience).
• Certifications:

  • NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
• Able to scrub and circulate.
• OR experience in a level 1 trauma center preferred.
• Must hold a valid NY Tech License.

Work Schedule

• 36 or 48 hours per week.
• DEN rotation.
• Weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
