Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Opportunity

Job Description

  • Conduct ongoing systematic assessments of patients' physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs through interviews, observation, and physical examination.
  • Receive admissions and transfers to the unit; complete nursing database within 24 hours.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans including problem identification, nursing diagnosis, interventions, goals, and discharge planning.
  • Assess patient safety and fall risk levels.
  • Teach and counsel patients and families; make referrals to appropriate resources.
  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team in rehabilitation goal planning and evaluation.
  • Accurately transcribe and process medical orders; integrate medical care plans into nursing care.
  • Administer medications and IV drugs according to policies; evaluate effectiveness of PRN medications.
  • Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Handle emergency and life-threatening situations, including CPR and use of crash cart.
  • Document all nursing care, patient education, discharge instructions, and interagency transfers accurately and timely.
  • Perform complete head-to-toe assessments each shift; act promptly on changes in patient condition using SBAR communication.
  • Review lab and test results; notify physicians of abnormal or critical findings.
  • Perform wound care and basic ventilator management.
  • Provide leadership and direction to assigned personnel, including LPNs and CNAs; delegate and monitor tasks.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and communicate learning needs.
  • Maintain current nursing licensure and certifications.
  • Demonstrate competency in nursing skills annually.
  • Adhere to safety, infection control, and isolation guidelines.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement and customer service attitude.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Experience and Certifications

  • Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience (highly desired)
  • BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
