Physical Therapist Travel Job Opportunity

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Promote patient and employee safety with a focus on:

  • Safe patient handling
  • Materials handling
  • Infectious diseases
  • Slips, trips, and falls prevention
  • Maintaining a safe work environment

• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the Physical Therapist.

• Assist with therapeutic interventions including:

  • Posture training
  • Strengthening exercises
  • Endurance/cardiac training
  • Balance and coordination exercises
  • Joint mobility and muscle lengthening
  • Pain relief
  • Functional skills training
  • Community re-entry training

• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices (canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs).

• Demonstrate proper use of gait belts, safety awareness, and guarding techniques.

• Use and instruct patients on prescribed equipment.

• Utilize modalities such as whirlpools, hot/cold packs, paraffin bath, TENS, therapeutic pool, ultrasound, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, and air splints.

• Monitor patient responses and intervene as necessary.

• Maintain and report on equipment safety and recommend new equipment purchases.

• Document patient progress, education, and participation.

• Teach patients and families good body mechanics.

• Establish and maintain professional and ethical relationships with patients and staff.

• Consult and collaborate with other healthcare disciplines; participate in team conferences.

• Participate in quality improvement projects.

• Share recent literature and case studies with peers.

• Comply with all clinic policies, procedures, safety, and infection control guidelines.

• Maintain a clean treatment area and clean equipment between patients.

• Display a customer service attitude toward patients, visitors, and staff.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

• Monday & Wednesday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM

• Tuesday & Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

• Friday: 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM

• Average patient load: 11 patients per day

Requirements

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school (Required)
• CAPTE Certification (Required)
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient clinical experience (Required)
• CPR Certification (Required)
• Active and applicable state license for the work location (Required)

Additional Notes

• New graduates are considered but at a lower pay rate.
• Prior assignments with the agency or Select Medical are highly desired but not required.
• No explicit requirement for prior travel experience mentioned.
