Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Job Overview

Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Deliver superior quality nursing care aligned with core company values including respect, teamwork, and results orientation.
  • Prioritize patient and employee safety by adhering to safety policies and procedures, identifying hazards, and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide timely patient information for initial and weekly team conferences.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
  • Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs on assigned units.
  • Utilize the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating) with a focus on patient/family education.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and safety.
  • Seek consultation from senior nursing staff for complex clinical decisions.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
  • Contribute positively to unit functioning by supporting staff, patients, and families.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs.
  • Provide cost-effective care while promoting quality patient outcomes.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation as requested.
  • Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
  • Prioritize activities and manage time and staff effectively to meet patient needs.

Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience (highly desired)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS Certification required prior to first shift
    • ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (for CIRH only)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
