Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technician

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technician to perform diagnostic radiologic imaging and assist Radiologists during procedures. The role requires teamwork, flexibility, and a strong commitment to patient care and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Select appropriate exposure factors and positioning to produce high-quality radiologic images.
• Prepare and instruct patients for examinations.
• Assist Radiologists during interventional procedures.
• Operate all radiology equipment competently and report malfunctions.
• Complete assigned procedures efficiently and assist with room turnover.
• Maintain medication security, ensuring access only to authorized personnel.
• Provide healthcare services and maintain professional interpersonal relationships with patients of all age groups.
• Use Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively.
• Participate in hospital performance improvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper use of passwords for patient care modules.
• Handle technical telephone inquiries professionally.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in Interventional Radiology.
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Technician License (any tech license accepted in NY state).
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
  • VIR (Vascular and Interventional Radiology) Certification preferred and required.
• State License: NYS License or ability to obtain prior to start.

Work Schedule

• 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts.
• On-call, callback, and holiday coverage as needed.
