Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Job Opportunity

Job Overview

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Setting: Patient care with supervision responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide timely patient information for initial and weekly team conferences.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs on assigned units.
  • Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.
  • Educate patients, families, and significant others to achieve patient goals and quality outcomes.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and safety.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
  • Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs.
  • Provide care in a cost-effective manner while promoting quality outcomes.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation, as requested.
  • Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
  • Prioritize activities and manage time and staff effectively to meet patient needs.

Required Skills and Certifications

  • BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift for certain units)
  • Minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience (required)
  • PCU or Stepdown experience (highly desired)

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
