Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Job Overview
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Deliver superior quality care while embodying core company values such as respect, teamwork, and resourcefulness.
- Prioritize patient and employee safety by adhering to safety policies and procedures, including safe patient handling, infectious disease precautions, and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
- Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide timely patient status updates during initial and weekly team conferences.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
- Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs on assigned units.
- Utilize the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating) with a focus on patient and family education.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care.
- Seek consultation from senior nursing staff for complex clinical decisions.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
- Maintain personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
- Contribute positively to unit functioning by offering calm leadership and participating in team-building activities.
- Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, equipment, and training.
- Provide care cost-effectively while promoting quality patient outcomes.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation, as requested.
- Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
- Prioritize activities and staff to meet patient needs efficiently.
Requirements
- Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience required.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift (if applicable).
- Prior Travel Experience: Not specified; prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
