Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Job Overview

Job Description

• Deliver superior quality care while embodying core company values such as respect, teamwork, and resourcefulness.
• Prioritize patient and employee safety by adhering to safety policies and procedures, including safe patient handling, infectious disease precautions, and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide timely patient status updates during initial and weekly team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs on assigned units.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating) with a focus on patient and family education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care.
• Seek consultation from senior nursing staff for complex clinical decisions.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning by offering calm leadership and participating in team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, equipment, and training.
• Provide care cost-effectively while promoting quality patient outcomes.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation, as requested.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
• Prioritize activities and staff to meet patient needs efficiently.

Requirements

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience required.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift (if applicable).
