Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Assignment

Job Overview

• Deliver quality nursing care by following individualized nursing care plans.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff (orientees).
• Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to identify teaching needs and goals.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and document all assessments and interventions accurately.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize patient/family education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation as requested.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
• Prioritize activities and staff to meet patient needs effectively.
• Work holidays as required.

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks.

Requirements

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (for CIRH only).
• Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience highly desired.

Safety Focus

• Emphasis on patient and employee safety.
• Adherence to safety policies including safe patient handling, materials handling, infectious disease precautions, and fall prevention.

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of bedside experience who are comfortable supervising others and working in a safety-focused, team-oriented environment.
