Work Schedule

• 5-8 hour shifts (negotiable up to 4-10 hour shifts)
• No rotating shift schedule
• 2-3 call shifts per month
• At least 1 holiday assignment

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Radiologic Technologist in New York State
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty
• Neurosurgery/Neuroscience experience required
• ARRT certification required

Preferred Qualifications

• Interventional Radiology experience preferred
• Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR) experience is a plus

Job Responsibilities

• Select exposure factors and positioning to produce diagnostic quality radiologic images
• Prepare and instruct patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic exams
• Assist Radiologists during procedures
• Operate all X-ray equipment, CR and DR systems proficiently
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly
• Complete assigned procedures efficiently and assist with departmental tasks as needed
• Maintain medication security and patient confidentiality
• Demonstrate competency in healthcare services and interpersonal relationships across all age groups
• Use Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively
• Participate in hospital performance improvement activities
• Handle technical telephone inquiries professionally

Additional Notes

• The unit typically provides up to six months of training for RTs transitioning from other modalities to neuro interventional radiology.
