Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Job Overview

Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Deliver superior quality nursing care aligned with organizational core values.
  • Prioritize patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, materials handling, infection control, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide timely patient information for team conferences and document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
  • Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel; delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Maintain personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
  • Contribute positively to unit functioning by supporting staff, patients, and families.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, equipment, and training.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation as requested.
  • Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
  • Prioritize activities and manage time and staff effectively to meet patient needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years bedside clinical experience (highly desired)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) required prior to first shift
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required prior to first shift (for CIRH only)
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
