Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Job Overview
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Deliver superior quality care while embodying core company values such as respect, teamwork, and resourcefulness.
- Prioritize patient and employee safety by adhering to safety policies and procedures, including safe patient handling, infectious disease precautions, and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
- Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide timely patient status updates during initial and weekly team conferences.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
- Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Maintain personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
- Contribute positively to unit functioning by supporting staff, patients, and families.
- Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, equipment, and training.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation as requested.
- Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
- Prioritize and plan activities to meet patient needs efficiently.
Requirements
- Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience (highly desired).
- Certifications:
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (for CIRH positions).
- Supervisory Duties: Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees.
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
